In the past, the most common method of distributing food to Israel’s needy was through pre-arranged “food packages” which, although helpful, were financially inefficient and unable to meet the specific needs of individual recipients or families.
Today, a decade after the FOOD CARD project was first conceived, JAR has issued and distributed about 666,500 food cards that have been loaded with approximately 149,775,000 NIS.
